Doing Porn in Japan can be Bad for your Career. But it’s Not What you Think.

We’ve given a lot of ink to how mainstreamed into the popular culture Japanese AV stars are, compared to their American counterparts.
But in a storage twist of the peculiarities of the Japanese porn industry, doing uncensored videos is bad for you career. See, it’s fine to do porn where the naughty bits and penetrative in-out are censored, and therefore legal under Japanese obscenity laws. But there’s also a fairly brisk underground market where everything’s shown.
In a post about Maria Ozawa (and really, it’s not like I need much motivation to post about Maria Ozawa), JapaneseAV noted that because she’s starting to do uncensored videos it’ll only be a matter of time before the fades away from the industry. Steve Scott, owner of Third World Media and this blog’s sponsor, confirmed that women who do porn that’s not mosiaced lose popularity because the audience will have seen everything.
As an open note to Maria Ozawa, I’d like to invite her to the American adult industry. In fact, she can ever stay with me. That’s how serious I am about this invitation.
